Welcome to the world yet another hypnobub!
Eliza was born yesterday after a quick and speedy delivery in the hospital birthing pool.
My membranes released almost 24 hours before her birth, and that whole day I just focused on being relaxed and used all of my techniques learnt through the Hypnobubs online course Affirmations for beautiful birthing were mostly my 'go to' track.
The birth escalated very quickly that evening, after my parents finally arrived at our house to look after our two-year-old daughter who we had to put to bed, we made our way into the hospital and by the time I had got there I was already 4 cm dilated.
I continued to use my breathing techniques which relaxed me so much that I progressed very quickly.
I didn't think I could handle the frequency or intensity of the waves/contractions so I did wave the red flag and scream for an epidural. But in the end the doctor actually refused to administer it (I had one for my first birth) and then I was...
Cooper Eric arrived 11.41pm on 18.10.17.
We had to be induced due to the presence of meconium.
The labour went for 5.5 hours and the only pain relief used was relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques learned through hypnobubs!
We had multiple things happen which weren't our preference (eg. Unable to birth in the birth centre due to requiring external and later on internal foetal monitoring, having to bear down on the bed with my legs in stirrups due to my son needing to be suctioned out and an episiotomy) but none of that phased me in the slightest as the hypnobubs course had taught me to trust my baby and body with whatever turn my birthing takes.
It was such a fantastic birth! Looking forward to doing it all over again in the future!
My first baby was born 5 weeks early by emergency caesarean. I had antenatal classes booked in for the following weekend so wasn't prepared at all for the birth, nor had I even considered that I might have a cesarean. I had no idea what a caesarean entailed and didn't have time to do any research before I was wheeled into the operating theatre. It was a very traumatic experience for me which I believe impacted greatly on being able to bond with my daughter. I swore I would never have a caesarean again.
A VBAC was offered for my second pregnancy but after much consideration my partner and I decided the safest option for our second baby was by planned caesarean. A friend suggested calm birthing so I did some research and found Melissa’s online Positive Caesarean Course.
After the first module I already felt more positive and openminded about the whole experience.
Hypnobubs Mama from Portugal Writes About Her Positive Birth Experience!
I was the mother of a girl on the 26th of August and I started the Hypnobubs with 34 weeks. I had already had a first birth that was nothing I expected so that I was determined to make it different.
Here in Portugal induce deliveries at 41 weeks. For the second time I reached 41 weeks but I decided to wait another few days.
The delivery was eventually induced in the same but the Hypnobirthing helped
me to surpass everything with serenity and to accept the setbacks.
In the end, although it took a while, I had the best experience I could imagine. I have already recommended the course in a chronicle in a newspaper where I write. I'm just sorry I did not know about the course earlier!

On Tuesday morning, the 8th August I woke up feeling rather sorry for myself after another sleepless night from pain in my pelvis, heart burn-you name it, but also because I was feeling uncomfortable in my belly that was different from the tightenings that I had been having since the second trimester!
We had planned to go out to Rangiora and visit my mum and hang with her as it was Tuesday café day but I said to my daughter Lily-Rose, who is seven and is homeschooled, that lets just stay in bed today and not go anywhere! But I thought if this was early labour starting then the last thing I wanted was to be at home waiting around for something to happen, much better to keep busy, so off we went and over the course of the day I complained to my mum that my tummy was starting to get a few niggles of something and we had a laugh that I would probably go into labour...
Azra from Dirty Mercy Mama is a doula, birth coach, blogger and STAR Hypnobubs mama!
She has written her very inspiring birth story on her blog and you can read the full birth story HERE.
"As a doula, I’ve seen that the most positively remembered births happen to women who take charge and educate themselves about their rights and options as a birthing mother well ahead of time. The most positive births happen to women who aren’t too proud build their little village of support, hire a doula and those who focus on mental preparation in addition to physical prep. With my own second birth, I focused mainly on mental exercises and visualizations to release my fears and trust my body.
I signed up for a life-changing hypnobirthing class in the weeks before and cannot believe the ease in which I birthed. Because I have a career and family to balance, the best option for me was to seek an online course. One of the most recommended to me was Hypnobubs curriculum. It...
Introducing Byron, weighing in at 3.86kgs, 51cms. Born really, really fast on our kitchen floor at 9.50am this morning. Wasn't exactly the waterbirth we had planned but we are ecstatic with our new addition.
I had been up since about 3am, the odd surge - irregular, fairly short, really easy, but mainly just feeling restless and uncomfortable being in bed. So I was pottering about the house, listening to my affirmations and doing some stretching, forward leaning and relaxing.
By about 7am things were starting to warm up so I woke my husband and we called my sister to come and get our 2 year old. He went at 7.30am, so I called my beautiful Doula Vicki & Midwife Malita to let them know that we were in early labour and thought today was going to be 'the day'.
Then we set up the tarp and inflated the pool, relaxed as, earphones in, surges still coming but didn't feel like we were in any great rush.
At about 8.30am I texted Vicki to say we were...
Before undertaking the Hypnobubs Online Course I had heard a lot of the negative/horror stories involving child birth and labour. Even during my pregnancy the amount of people that shared their stories with me was enough to induce fear. After researching the different courses and styles available we decided to undertake the Hypnobubs Hypnobirthing Online Course.
The video sessions were to the point and gave both my partner and I the right amount of information to feel confident and prepared for the birth ahead.
The audio tracks and breathing techniques were invaluable throughout the first and second stages of labour and prepared me to give birth to our daughter naturally with no drugs or intervention.
I look back on my birthing experience in a very positive way and I am very grateful for the preparation and tools that I learnt from the Hypnobubs Course.
I highly recommend Melissa and her range of services and look forward to doing it all again!
I wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that I had a very successful birth of my daughter Bellarose .
I have enjoyed your online hypnobirthing course so very much. It has opened myself up to ways of dealing with pain, not just during pregnancy and birth, and ways of relaxation. It has just made me aware that birth shouldn't be painful, my body knows what to do and I should just listen to it, which is what I did.
I had a very interesting labour - 48 hours of early labour; contractions ten minutes apart for two days was emotionally exhausting, but I got through it; and 5.5 hours of active labour. I got through it without any medical pain relief, and with the assistance of hypnobirthing, I had a calm, relaxing and positive birth.
I had a water birth and, something very interesting, my baby was born in the sac as my membranes had never ruptured. My husband watched the videos as well and he knew exactly what to do during the labour and having him there, encouraging me to...
When my daughter was born two years ago in Texas I had not prepared for the birth. I had a hospital birth with an OB, and didn't research any other options.
I did the hospital childbirth course, which mainly focused on the interventions that could occur and not how to cope with the discomforts. But I believed in my body's ability to give birth and thought I would cope fine.
For my first birth - while labor went fast and uncomplicated, the hospital interventions made the process more difficult. I was made to lay on my back with legs in stirrups and given local anaesthetic resulting in and episiotomy after 3 pushes. It left me feeling traumatised and abused.
When my son was born 5 weeks ago, in California now. I was much more prepared; I studied the hypnobubs hypnobirthing online course, listened to positive birth stories and planned a home birth.
William was born peacefully at home in the water 4 hours after I got into the tub. I only found the last hour challenging but worked...
