So with everything I had left in me I pushed once and his head came out...

Hi Hypnomums!

I wanted to share my positive birth story with you. First-time mum - I started having period like pains on Thursday 21st at 2pm - I was 40 weeks and 4 days. I didn’t know if it was labour starting so just relaxed and tried not to get too excited! After an hour or two there was a definite pattern to them and they progressively got stronger so I knew this was it!

I had a big dinner that night and went to bed listening to prompts for birthing and surge of the sea on repeat. I laboured all night at home, doing my best surge breathing throughout and trying to rest in between. I hopped in the bath at around 2am to try and get some relief as the pressure was starting to become intense. My partner used light touch through every surge and drizzled water over me while in the bath.

At around 4am I asked my partner to call our midwife as I felt I was exhausted and wanted to go to the hospital to try some gas and get comfortable there. She advised that...

FTM, accidental home birth.

This is super long as I wrote it out to help me process it all.

On Friday morning I woke up and had what I thought was a small leak and a bloody show and thought I was in the early stages of labour! I saw my midwife that afternoon who checked my waters and advised they were not leaking and it was just my mucous plug and my cervix were still shut completely.

9:30pm I felt my first niggle but wasn't sure if it was just trapped wind 🤣 I tried to sleep but I just couldn’t and by 11pm I knew that it wasn't wind and probably not braxton hicks.

I left my husband in bed and went and watched Schitts Creek to keep those oxytocin hormones going and bounced on my gym ball. By 2am they were becoming obvious and I was bleeding a bit more so that’s when I called the...

With the right breathing, I wouldn’t even call it pain to be honest. Just strong sensations.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share my beautiful birth story with you and express my gratitude to Melissa for such a wonderful life-changing course!

My water broke on my 38th+3 week, but I had no surges at all, which was concerning. My doctor and midwifes had to insist on inducing me due to a higher risk of infection.

I was quite upset as I know that these kind of inductions can be harsh/intense, and me asking for epidural would most likely be the next step in this cascade of interventions.
I asked them to give me a chance and let me induce it naturally at home within 12 hours. I tried clary sage oil, partner’s light touch and long kerb walking and finally started experiencing tightening sensations. They were quite inconsistent but the intensity was getting higher and higher with each surge. And, oh my God, the surge breathing made a HUGE difference! I unintentionally went through a couple of intense surges with no proper breathing and I thought to myself, I simply...
